Under normal circumstances, the manufacturers of medical devices work under lots of regulations, and everything is precisely controlled. However, with the onset of the global pandemic of Covid 19, some of these things may be loosened so that anything that could possibly help the world deal with it gets out to medial teams as fast as possible.

These things can take several years to do under the old rules, but now today manufacturers are looking for ways to get some shortcuts into the mix so they can save lives. One of those ways in the past has been to do things like digitize the data so it can be governed and traced and gotten to the regulators faster and easier. But these days we need even fast methods of producing new products to fight Covid 19.

So the FDA has put into place the Emergency Use Authorization or EUA to put products into the market faster. For instance, fighting Covid 19 requires the use of ventilators for the most sick patients. A company is now allowed to directly get in touch with some place that makes ventilators and get them to share their design so other place that don’t normally make them, can help do so. This includes for instance the auto makers.

Auto makers are used to regulations and strict quality control features, so they know how to do testing and verification. They merely had to be refitted so they could make the needed ventilators instead of making cars, thus this helped to get many more on the market through some of the biggest car manufacturers like GM and Tesla.

They were given everything they need such as drawings, blueprints, product structure requirements, and all info on proper processes and procedures. This is done via a special collaboration portal. The portal tracks everything from production to quality controls and things like any problems can go back and forth between the auto companies and the owner of the original product design and creation.

There was also something created called Web 3.0, which Verses Labs Inc.’s president Dan Mapes has been working on. It’s also called the Spatial Web. This lets businesses as well as cities or hospitals manage their assets better and all the connections to those assets.  This helps the processes go much aster and be more effective as well.

It digitizes every single building, city or other items and ultimately they want to be able to do this for the whole Earth. It integrates things like virtual reality, Blockchain, Augmented Reality and Artificial Intelligence with the Internet of Things and Internet wearables. What this does is help new products get through a supply chain faster and more effectively.
