In Chicago we say highways....everyone laughs at me here in LA if I don't say freeway!

I grew up in Chicago, but spent my summers in Wisconsin. Our family has a small cottage on a lake, and I would work at a marina all through high school and college. My job was to work on the piers (gas for boats, boat parking, boat rentals, water-ski lessons, etc.) This lake is just barely over the Wisconsin-Illinois border, so most of the tourist population at the lake would be people from Chicago making the drive up for the weekend. However, we would also have customers from much further north in Wisconsin. One day a customer (from near Green Bay) asked me if there was a bubbler anywhere close by. I had no idea what he was talking about. He starting talking about water, and I'm thinking, "water...lake...bubbler...?" I was clueless. Turns out a bubbler is another word for a drinking fountain and the guy wanted to get a sip of water before getting on a boat. Who knew.
