Hello Classmates,
I was born in southwest suburban Chicago in Evergreen Park, IL. I attended University of Michigan in Ann Arbor where I graduated with a degree in Mathematics and Physics. As corps member in the Teach For America program, I spent two years teaching high school at the Noble Network Charter Schools – Muchin Campus in Chicago, IL.
I currently live in Santa Monica and teach Algebra II, Honors Algebra II, and AP Calculus AB at Brentwood School in Los Angeles, CA. Last year I finished my M.A in Guidance and Counseling from Loyola Marymount University. This is not my first online class. I also completed the College Counseling Certificate through UCLA Extension. I'm completing this program now as a requirement to clear my CA teaching credential in math and physics. I've had no coursework in working with English Learners, so I'm excited about this course. I'm interested in how it can help me teach math in particular.
In my free time I am an avid runner, Michigan football fan, Cubs fan, and enjoy traveling and spending time with my large family (I have 35 cousins)! Another fun fact - I spent 13 years performing and instructing children of all ages in the art of Irish Dancing. Finally, I just got married this summer! My husband and I met as freshman at the University of Michigan- although he is originally from Santa Monica, CA. We are rivals this week (in baseball). He is rooting for the Dodgers. I'm rooting for the Chicago Cubs!

Hi Dr. Ingman,
It's nice to virtually meet you. Congrats on writing your first novel. That sounds very exciting! Your granddaughter is so adorable. I'm looking forward to this class.

Hi Valerie,
Living in Colorado sounds exciting! I've only been there once when I was younger and attempted to ski. I was not very good! I'm also a math/science teacher (although at the high school level) so I look forward to working with you in the class.
